About 'GOLD'

The Influences...

Esther Elizabeth grew up watching the musicals from the great studios such as MGM. Her favorite day of the week was Saturday, when following morning dance class, she would return home and watch the afternoon films.

Whilst other children were out playing in the park in the modern world, Esther Elizabeth was soaking up all the old musical songs and beautiful dance routines in the glorious Technicolor of decades long past.

Marylin Monroe, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, Leslie Caron, Bing, Dean... all the greats. Her eyes and ears were opened to a style from a different era.

As she grew up, her musical interests continued to expand. Listening to Irving Berlin, Gershwin... then Perry Como, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams... led to voices such as Ella Fitzgerald, Ruth Etting and Tony Bennett. 

Though dance and acting, which she still loves (see the links page) took her in different directions for a while (see the 'About Esther Elizabeth' page), she soon returned to this era, but with a voice of her own.

The Songs...

With the various influences, from Broadway led Musicals to The American Songbook; Crooners to Jazz & Swing, a rich pool of melodies developed. GOLD therefore is painted into a rich tappestry of internationally loved classics such as:
